Thanks again to everyone who responded to our question about the 2024 Clubman Nationals. To reflect its’ importance, and to give it the prestige we feel it deserves, we are going to make it a 2 day event, and run it almost entirely for Clubman racers.
The intention is to run a 4 man, club based team race for Intro 32 cars (at least 3 of the 4 drivers must be Clubmen) and a Clubman F2 Championship on the Saturday, and the Intro 32 and Clubman Saloon on Sunday. We will try and arrange the timetable so that people can travel up on the Saturday to race, and no one should need accommodation for more than 1 night. For those racers who cannot get a full official club team together, we will help/allow some mixing and matching, so that everyone who wants to race will be able to. Gavin has kindly offered to donate a ‘perpetual trophy’ for the winning club team.
We are hoping that experienced racers will encourage Clubmen from their local club, to make up a team and come and race and have fun.
We have an offer from one of our members to provide catering on both days, and there will be National Champions on hand to help anyone with problems or simply on car preparation. We would also like to arrange a Saturday evening dinner for as many racers who would like to attend.
Finally, an added incentive is that we will be offering free 1/32nd Nationals entry for each winner into the equivalent event that they win, ie the F2 winner gets a free entry into the F1 class in May, the Intro 32 winner gets a free entry into Sports, and the Saloon winner gets one into that event.
So Clubmen racers, please put the dates on your calendar, and for those of you who are no longer eligible, please encourage those at your club to participate, and come along yourselves to support them and the event. Let’s make it a weekend to remember.
